ReplyDeleteThanks for this offer! I love epics...hello...Gone With the Wind? :) I think that novel helped me tackle "long" books as a younger reader, and to see that sticking with a book of some length or story plot would be well worth it.

I find epic stories to often be very powerful, carrying with them great drama, character/plot development, and the ability to take you completely into the world of the novel. That's why I like them!

Wow! I've gotta read this book, so please enter me in your giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy epics because often the detailed, longer stories draw me in with a richness that fluffy fare (like my cozy mysteries that I read so many of) just can't touch. "Gone With the Wind" ranks right up there, so I'm glad someone mentioned it. I've also read books by Christian author Michael Phillips that are epic (his "Rose" series), and books by Sharon Kay Penman that would fit into that category as well.
Always, they are memorable!
(P.S., I'm a follower, too, so I'm super-easy to contact!)
I do enjoy epic novels, but I rarely make time to read them. Oftentimes the size of novel is so daunting that I choose to put it aside for another time :(. Having said that, I think the one that I have most enjoyed in Middlemarch by George Eliot.
ReplyDeleteI would love to be entered in the contest. Thanks for hosting it :)

My favorite type of book is historical fiction, but I also enjoy epics because I hate when a story is rushed and details are left out that explain why things happen later. I like to see character development and to know all about them.
ReplyDeleteI love both. It just depends on my mood when I'm choosing a book to read.
ReplyDeleteepics well lets see war and peace /gone with the wind /yes i do love epics farther i get in the book the more i understand the characters and understand their situations
ReplyDeleteI like epic novels because the author can take the time to develop characters and plots in a way that gets you thinking, and doesn't have to blurt everything out to fit the story into a formulated page restriction. asthenight at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteI love reading stories that you can follow the characters from one story to the next. I connect so much better to the story. Please include me in your giveaway.
ReplyDeleteThanks

I enjoy epics because they are long enough to go into great detail, follow the characters over a long period of time and are very detailed. I find them hard to get into at the start but once you do, you become immersed in the world the author has created

It doesn't matter to me whether a book is a saga or epic, as long as it's good. Although with epics, I seem to have a better time reading them.
