Catching Up On A Sunday

Fall is here, one of my favorite seasons. Time has passed quickly, I can't believe that October is almost here. September was a busy month for my family with school projects and homework for my son, a piano recital, work,  work training, family responsibilities and more.  Add to that my son and I both have terrible ragweed allergies and we both had bronchitis and he is still battling a sinus infection. My husband had some major yard work challenges when he reseeded our backyard, tore down our son's old swing set and planted shrubs for privacy. He's a hard worker!

I have been listening to more audio books now that I have a farther drive to work. It definitely makes the drive more enjoyable! Although, a narrator can make or break a book for me. I ditched one audio book as the narrators voice grated on me. I am currently listening to and enjoying:

Objects of my affection by Jill Smolinski

I am reading on my Kindle:

The Book Lover by Mary Ann McFadden

Happy Sunday, Enjoy your day!!

  1. I'm listening to Gods in Alabama back and forth to work. It makes my drive seem so much shorter!! Allergies have really been bad this year. I blame the lack of a cold winter!!! I love this time of year too...the leaves changing, the crisp air, warm drinks with spices...yum!!

    Have a great week!

    1. I agree Staci, the audio books definitely make the drive seem shorter! I made a pot of taco soup & plan to make an apple crisp or apple cake later, yum!

  2. How are you liking your new "clients" Bonnie? :) I have never minded my commute to work and actually prefer a drive, just so I can listen to my audiobooks. I'm glad you are enjoying the pastime. And, I agree, narrators can make or break a book. If someone else read the Odd Thomas series, I would not have continued. The narrator IS Odd Thomas. :)

Years ago, we did the same thing to our yard. We don't have fences, so the swing set, etc. created the boundary. Now we have beautiful bushes that bloom in the spring and are a great hedge. However, in winter they are sticks, but we're fine with that.

I love Fall, too! I hope we get some snow this winter. I know I'm in the minority with that sentiment.

    1. I am enjoying my new "clients" Joy! Thanks for asking. Part time work is so nice and preschoolers are amazing, early intervention is so important for special needs students.

We added bushes to create a hedge of privacy as we don't have a fence either. We wouldn't mind adding more to get more privacy, some people can be very nosy!

  3. I've ditched audios because of the narrator too. If they don't put any expression in the narration, my mind wanders.

  4. Totally agree about the narrator on audio books. There have also been books that I think I would have enjoyed more if I had listened to them instead of reading them, such as "Ready Player One." Everyone who listens to it just loves it. I read it and didn't care for it but wonder if I might have liked it if I had listened to it instead.

  5. I love autumn too, and I actually adore winter...bring on the sweaters! As for allergies, I'm right there with you. This has been one of the worst seasons I can remember.

Happy Sunday to you and yours, Bonnie!

  6. October is here but it is 106 today! I am not feeling it! I have been complaining about it for many reasons, but my $300 water bill and my almost $300 AC bill are my biggest complaints right now.
